The AisleCop^® Dual Pedestrian Gate System helps protect pedestrians through motion-detection and traffic control of dangerous aisles. The gates (typically facing each other) help limit pedestrian access to aisles when a forklift or other industrial equipment is present. The gates open and allow pedestrians to cross only after traffic has cleared. To enhance pedestrian safety, flashing lights and an audible alarm are triggered each time the system is activated. Custom control and sensor configurations are available upon request. Guardrail sold separately.

Description

Motion sensors detect the presence of a forklift or other vehicle in the traffic lane
Gates can be programmed to pedestrian priority (static state is gate open), or vehicle priority (static state is gate closed)
When set for pedestrian priority, gates are open unless traffic is detected in the vehicle lane, upon which time, flashing lights and the audible alarm trigger, and the gates close. Gates remain closed until traffic is no longer detected in the traffic lane
When set for vehicle priority, gates are closed until a pedestrian presses the button on top of the gate control box, triggering flashing lights and an audible alarm. If there is no traffic detected, the gates open. If traffic is detected, the gates remain closed until traffic is no longer detected in the traffic lane
When set for vehicle priority, after opening, the gates will close after a programmed time delay unless sensors detect pedestrians remaining in the crosswalk
Pedestrian gates will refuse to open anytime a vehicle is detected in the traffic lane, even if pedestrian has pressed gate button to activate gate opening
The pedestrian gates may be manually opened or closed using moderate pressure in the event of a power outage
Installation not included. System tested prior to shipping. Buyer responsible for wiring electricity to the control box

Other critical factors, such as system maintenance, drivers and pedestrian compliance, enforcement of crossing lanes, and assessment of safe crossings are the responsibility of individuals and companies
